You can permanently delete your NEEDA account at any time, directly from within the NEEDA app. Account deletion is irreversible and removes your ability to sign in, list items, book rentals, send messages, or receive notifications on NEEDA.

How to delete your account

To delete your account from inside the NEEDA app:

  1. Sign in to your NEEDA account.
  2. Open your Account / Profile Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Delete Account section.
  4. Select Delete My Account.
  5. Follow the confirmation steps to permanently delete the account.

After you confirm, you will be signed out and your account will be scheduled for removal.

Can't access the NEEDA app?

You can request deletion of your NEEDA account and associated personal data by emailing help@getneeda.app. Please send the request from the email address associated with your NEEDA account so we can verify ownership.

Request Account Deletion

This opens your email app with the request pre-addressed. No sign-in or app install is required.

What is removed when you delete your account

When your account deletion is processed, the following personal information associated with your account is removed:

  • Your account profile — name, email address, phone number, profile photo, bio, and occupation.
  • Your saved address, city, state, and ZIP code.
  • Your pickup and return handoff instructions.
  • Your notification preferences and language settings.
  • Your saved wishlists, search history, and recently viewed items.
  • Your ability to sign in and use NEEDA.

Information we may keep

To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and to protect the safety and integrity of the NEEDA community, certain information may be retained after your account is deleted. This includes:

  • Completed transaction & booking records — rental dates, item details, and amounts for bookings you took part in, retained for legal, accounting, and tax-compliance purposes.
  • Payment & accounting records — payment amounts, fees, payouts, and refunds associated with your past transactions, retained as required for financial record-keeping.
  • Return issue & dispute records — records of reported return issues, damage reports, and their resolutions, retained for dispute resolution and fraud prevention.
  • Ratings & reviews — ratings and reviews you gave or received, retained because they reflect other users' experiences on the platform.
  • Message history — conversations you had with other users, retained where needed for dispute resolution, safety, and legal compliance.
  • Fraud-prevention & security records — information retained to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and other harmful activity.

These categories of information are kept only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above and to meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements. After that period, the information is deleted or anonymized.

Keep in mind: Deletion is not instant. After you submit your request, your account is scheduled for removal. Accounts are fully removed once all required checks are complete. If you change your mind before removal is finished, contact support as soon as possible.
